As a little girl, people shared stories about my grandfather being an amazing teacher that made them love art and learning. He would tell his students it’s ok, you can make mistakes. Don’t erase them. Use them. Sometimes it takes coloring outside the lines to make the best art. Those lessons are all I have of him and always inspired me to make art that is unexpected but resonates with people. A lifetime of honoring his legacy has shaped me into who I am today, and I hope I can make him proud in the next chapters of my journey.
